We finally pulled out all of the Christmas attire, decor, and games today! Christmas music blasting through our speakers, Christmas cookies in the oven, and everyone in their festive pajamas. It is time to celebrate the most important birth on earth…. and give it all we got for a month.
Since my husband was home for the holidays, we knew we had to have a “Welcome Christmas” day with the ol kiddos. We started off with their snacks. Something that would have them screaming “GET INTO MY BELLY!”.
We decided to go with:
-Donuts with green icing for Christmas wreaths (I tried to make a red bow on the wreath, and it was AWFUL. Major props to bakers who have this skill).
-Strawberries with white icing for santa hats
-Watermelon for Christmas trees
-Holiday white cake to create the perfect Christmas outside scene
I found the cutest little reindeer candies for the kids to decorate some Christmas cookies. My daughter is obsessed with sharing her knowledge of the eyes (as her little finger stabs you in the eyeball, and she laughs), nose, and mouth…so I KNEW this would be perfect. I made some sugar cookies and let them go to town on making their reindeers.
With every themed day we try to have some type of arts and crafts. I am always a paint fan, so I decided to let them paint with some extra Christmas trees I have had forever. I attached the Christmas tree to a skewer with hot glue, so it would be easier for the kids. This activity can help show the kids the differences in texture and paint.
Learning moments make me so giddy!! I LOVE watching my son show me what he knows, or when his eyes brighten up when he learns a new skill. We have been working on shapes and colors, so I decided to make this Christmas tree ornament activity. When I say he LOVED it….. I mean he LOVED IT!
What you need:
-White butcher paper
-Paint/Markers for the Christmas tree
-Construction paper for ornaments
So this last craft is more for mom! I wanted to make some new hand/foot prints for a keepsake and to hang every Christmas. Brooks loves making handprints, while Harper on the other hand…. not so much… like not at all…. like screams and cries. I ended up finding two footprint crafts and two handprint crafts to make both of my kids happy. Cannot wait to find the perfect spot for these babies!
Hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
