I love a playroom!! I remember when the kid’s were born already thinking about turning our guest room to a playroom for the kids. Every kid needs a playroom…especially mine…they have WAY too many toys to fit in their small bedrooms. Plus I love the idea of everything in the playroom belongs to both of the kids, so there isn’t any arguments about whose is whose. The centerpiece of the playroom is the 4 cube by 4 cube storage unit. I put little white wire baskets in every other cube for the small items such as the blocks, play dough, cars, etc. Literally when we have to clean…. we throw the toys either in a basket or in a cube. Plus the kids can see everything on display..win for me…win for them.
The kid’s love this area….The kitchen is stocked with play food for their pretend world. I am OCD when it comes to their play food (I know they could careless), but I love to have the food in certain baskets haha. The kids finger painted the paintings above the kitchen…it’s one of my favorites.
My son LOVES LOVES LOVES cars! Probably more than me if I have to be honest. When we have a visitor, Brooks has to show of these beauties. It is like his own personal museum as he picks up a car and explains a little something about them to anyone who comes to visit. I saw a old print drawer online and knew it would be a perfect home for his 1,343,322,674,790 cars. Luckily his grammy had one in her storage! So as soon as we got it, we painted it white and BAM there it is!
I love storage cubes if you cannot tell! Storage cubes and baskets…. A gift from God! I found this storage unit at IKEA for CHEAP!! I knew I wanted it to be heighten somehow, so I found some legs for $1 each to screw on the bottom. The cube came with some, but they didn’t fit correctly.
My kids LOVE to paint, and I love to display all their artwork in a unique and pretty way. Brooks and I created these art pieces together…we used toilet paper rolls, painters tape, and lemons to create some of his art pieces. I swear I have the next Picasso! My boy can paint! And why not put a giraffe head right in the middle! haha Random…but I love it in the weirdest way.
I’ve had these faceted terrariums for a while now. When the kids found a love for stamps, they were literally wanting to stamp paper every mornings. So I had to find a way to store them in a easy and accessible location. When I saw these in my closet, I knew they were perfect! Not only are they easy to reach, they are unbreakable and visible for the kids to see the variety of stamps.
I fell in love with these storage baskets when my mother in law said I could have them for their playroom 🙂 🙂 I painted the board white and spray painted the baskets to match their playroom (I cannot help but match everything). Plus it is perfect for storage under the chalkboard my mom got us!
