So I have been thinking about the new year a lot lately. Pondering on my resolutions and ways I can be a better mom to these beautiful babies (mom challenge) and a more loving wife for my husband.
The new year causes everyone to start thinking. Setting our own personal goals to be a better us. As I focused on my goals, it lead me to think about the goals my little toddlers would set. Their goals are more than likely opposite of mine (exercise, diet).
Goals I think my kids would set:
-Ban naps all together
-Eat whatever they want (no veggies and more sugar)
-Binge watch Paw Patrol all day everyday
-Gain more toys by batting their beautiful little eyelashes
-Do away with spankings and punishments all together
Even though I definitely wouldn’t agree with such goals (and seriously hope they would be better than what I assume), they still deserve their own day of good luck with foods and fun.
So this is what their new years lucky food table consisted of (which is wayyy better than what us adults eat… cabbage for money…. ew):
No Naps: Coffee for caffeine (chocolate milk)
More Toys: Gummy Bears and Teddy Grahams
Paw Patrol binge: Dog fetch sticks (pretzels)
No Spankings: No licks candy (licorice) and more padding for the diapers (cotton candy)
Eat more sugar in replacements of healthy foods: Ice cream and cookies
Firework Art Activity:
My kids LOVE seeing fireworks … on t.v. that is. They aren’t real crazy about the loud sounds yet (can’t say I blame them). With New Years comes fireworks, so it had to be incorporated somehow…. and of course my mind is wired to bring in some artwork.
We took a toilet paper roll and cut little strips at the bottom (wish I would have cut them even thinner). After I cut the strips, I bent them upwards…. dumped some paint on a paper plate… and let them go to town. The end result was a table, faces, hands, and chairs painted…. but we gained some beautiful firework art.
Had to have some blowers for the occasion. I ended up painting these little mouths for the kids… just because I felt like we all needed a laugh.
