I am definitely not a traditional girl when it comes to holiday decor. I love the modern colors versus the traditional colors and sprucing things up to make it more beautiful such as with flowers! Since the day my sweet girl was born, we have ALWAYS had her around flowers. Flowers in her hair, flowers in every monthly picture, and floral bouquets just because she deserves it. So when it comes to Halloween…. how could I not incorporate some flowers? This pumpkin was EXTREMELY easy….. It was done by the time my kids woke up from their naps.
What you need:
-white pumpkin (ours was orange since I used the one we got from the pumpkin patch, so I spray painted it white)
-Black paint or paint pen
-Floral green wire
After spraying painting the pumpkin white, I started on the floral crown. Floral crowns can be SUPER easy or lengthy depending on how fancy you want it. I went with the super easy and simple route considering I only had nap time to work with, and it’s for a pumpkin.
You need to go ahead and cut the size wire you need for the pumpkin. I usually use two pieces of wire the same length and intertwine them together to make it more sturdy.
Cut small pieces of wire to use when attaching flowers to the wire.
Start at the top and attach flower with wire. I use two pieces of wire (one at the top and one at the bottom of the flower) to make sure it will stay and is sturdy. After I attach the flower with wire, I wrap flower tape around the wire so the ends won’t poke thru especially if my daughter wears it eventually.
I always attach a flower on both sides of crown and gradually finish the floral head crown.
When crown is finished, you can go ahead and paint the eyes of the pumpkin. I love the feminine look of these eyes.
Harper LOVED her girly pumpkin…. she actually thought it was comical haha
