Mother Nature…. Come on!! You know it’s hot! It is time to cool things off and welcome fall because with fall comes cooler weather not to mention halloween and football! All summer I have walked out of my front door into a massive oven frying my hair and causing my skin to wrinkle. So if I can’t change the weather, I can at least pretend it’s fall right?
What you need:
-Halloween Figurines of our choice
I wanted to convince myself fall was here, so of course I started pulling out some Halloween decor! I had an old diorama pumpkin that we never worked on considering my kids were too young. So this year, we made a run to Michaels and stocked up on some diorama figures.
Brooks and I filled the bottom with moss and hot glued our family figurine right in the middle. I loved the family we found… Brooks points to each character and whispers in his sweet little voice “Mama! Daddy! Sister!” He never says “Brooks” so I end up finishing the last figure…he’s okay with us being the creepy characters but not himself. Figures. He did call me the unattractive boy figure once or twice, but hey I can’t blame him! It was a no makeup, baseball cap kinda day.
We ended up glueing some mini pumpkins to bring some color and a few graveyard markers. But it was still missing something, so Brooks picked up some sticks for us to add as trees! It was our masterpiece we designed together! The simplicity of it is perfect for my living room decor too. I might have to keep this pumpkin every year to symbolize our beautiful attractive family every halloween.
Spooky Halloween Photos
I really wanted to somehow use my kid’s pictures as decor for halloween each year, so I started thinking about those creepy pictures you always find in haunted houses. Immediately I went searching for some old outfits in the kids closet and found the perfect sweaters to resemble an older couple.
I dressed up as a golden girl one year, so of course I owned a white wig that HAD to be worn for this photo session. I snapped the pictures with a white background, so the picture could focus on them solely and used adobe photo editor to give it a more old and vintage look. A perfect combination of halloween and my favorite two people.
