Brooks is still working on his language, so at times I wonder how much he is internalizing as we read or play learning activities. With this activity specifically, he tried his very best to say the numbers and help me count each noodle. He eventually wanted to add more spaghetti noodles… and even when he did that… he still tried to say the numbers. This simple homemade learning activity was so much fun for him that he was learning without even realizing it (that is how most effective learning will take place). He was working on his counting, colors (matching the playdoh and numbers), and hand/motor skills.
Not only is this activity SUPER easy for a mom to set up, but you don’t have to go out and purchase a single thing!
All you need is:
-Rotini noodles (anything you have that he could slide on… cheerios, fruit loops, etc)
-Numbers: (Free printable)
Playdoh and spaghetti for the win!
